Graphics Card : ASUS Radeon 6970 DirectCU II
Monitor : X-STAR DP2710LED 2560x1440

Hey, just got this monitor today. Connected it up but I can't get a display. I'm using the correct cable DVI-D that came with the monitor. It won't even post. I tried both DVI-D slots on the graphics card.
So i reconnected my Acer G24 and opened up the CCC. It can see the X-Star monitor but I can't do anything with it. When I put the cursor over the icon it shows "DVI-D DFP, DVI Disabled"

To be sure it wasn't the monitor I connected to another PC which has a 660ti and works perfectly.

I'm truly at a lost here and some help would be much appreciated.

The 6970 - http://www.amd.com/en-gb/products/graphics/desktop/6000/6970
has -
DisplayPort 1.2 - Max resolution: 2560x1600 per display, Multi-Stream Transport, 21.6 Gbps bandwidth, High bit-rate audio
HDMI® (With 3D, Deep Color and x.v.Color™) - Max resolution: 1920x1200
Dual-link DVI with HDCP - Max resolution: 2560x1600
VGA - Max resolution: 2048x1536

So what 'both DVI-D slots on the graphics card'?

Solution
Cable and monitor work on another system as mentioned. Graphics is plugged in properly since it powering my Acer 24 at the moment. So the bale has fail, not sure what that means. But thanks for your input.

So your trying to run dual screens? In that case you have to enable the second output in the display settings in windows.....
