I'm going to be upgrading my PC, and will be using this CPU: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad750kwohjbox

I'd like to OC it to about 4.0Ghz. Will this shorten the lifespan of the CPU?

What kind of cooling would I need?

If the CPU comes with some kind of thermal bridge, should I use something aftermarket instead?

What kind of extra wattage is involved?(using a 450W PSU w/ a 2Gb HD7790)

Solution
Let me preface my comments by making sure your aware that not every CPU is created equally. Even 2 CPUs that come off the same wafer may have different overclocking abilities. Some will be better than others.
With that said.....
Never overclock with the cooler that you get with your CPU. Its designed to keep the processor cool at stock frequency. If your interested in overclocking try a good entry level CPU cooler such as...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
I wouldn't worry too much about shortening the lifespan of your CPU. I've built hundreds of systems since the early 90's and I have never once seen a CPU reach the end of its lifespan. You can do a lot of things to kill a CPU, but I doubt you will ever...

4.0 GHz is a good mild overclock. As long as you use a good after market cooler it should last you for years.
As far as HOW to overclock that CPU, there are tons of guides on the web that will give you the specifics on the do's and dont's of overclocking. You shouldn't have any trouble of finding a resource that will suit you. If you do end up needing more help, then come back once your ready to overclock. There are plenty of people here who would be willing to help.

you'll hit 4ghz without issue with that cpu...

that said, as to your questions... it's HEAT that kills a cpu over it's lifespan not VOLTAGE. as long as your cpu is operating at safe temps (<68C) under load, your cpu will live a long life until you replace it with something better in a few years. Just make sure you're not using the stock CPU cooler and you should be alright.

generally speaking AMD cpus are rather tough and hard to kill. Generally you'll kill your motherboard long before you pop an AMD cpu.

btw: your 450W psu should be good enough.
