AMD 7850 getting too hot?

So i have had this card for 6 months now and its been getting hot ever since i got it and installed a Arctic cooler on it. Playing borderlands 2 for about 1 hour + and it reaches 89c Is this normal?

Yeah, that does not sound quite right. Are you sure the cooler is properly seated? And are you sure the cooler you picked is rated for the 7850? Arctic makes several models intended for lower power cards too.

My GPU cooler is a ARCTIC Accelero L2 Plus. Also Could it be my CPU? Its a fx 6300 and when im gaming for about 6-10 minutes it climes up all the way to 60c depending what game im playing

The 7850 has a TDP of 130W, and that cooler has a maximum capacity of 120W according to the manufacturer's website. You're operating near the limit of the cooler, so that temperature is not really surprising. I'd either go back to the stock cooler, or try to get one of the bigger ARCTIC coolers, if it fits in your case.

But would my CPU temps be causing my GPU temps to be so high? My cpu runs in the 60's extensively gaming

Not really. That temperature is fairly normal for a CPU under load. I'd only worry if you start getting over 80C regularly. I'm pretty sure the biggest issue here is that your cooler is just not enough for the card you have. It won't damage the card, but it will limit some of its potential for sure.

Yes, that will work much better. Do notice, though, that that cooler has a 120mm fan; it's much bigger than most coolers. You need to make sure it will fit in your case. Other than that, it should work well with your 7850.

Thank you i just ordered the GPU cooler and a tube of Thermal paste. I barely used the stock fan that came with my 7850 because i broke it and it ran loud just starting the GPU up. Thank you again

No problem That cooler should work much better for you. I've seen very good reviews of the ARCTIC coolers, and I have a project myself where I will use some, but we do need to make sure we pick the right one Good luck!
