I've got a bracket to mount the cooler on order along with a shim but got impatient and dug into it today. Took the stock plate and heatsink off and cooked it in the oven at 400 degrees till the heatsink fell off. Remounted the plate and fan and zip tied a cpu water cooler on with a shim i *tried* to make.
Long story short, it idles at 45 celsius and spikes under load. It looks like my shim is a little bent due to the cutting of it with scissors so i'm guessing that is the problem? I usually run in crossfire so i still have one card, but getting a little anxious to make this work. .
Im planning on cutting the stock cover with a hole saw at work tomorrow so i can reattach it to hide all the crap inside. Possibly help the fan a little too.
