I'm sorry to hear that. The Crosshair IV doesn't support the 8350. The Crosshair V does. Can you link the post that suggests the upgrade?

Ouch sorry it seems Dunlop0078 misread the IV as a V or otherwise mistaken your motherboard. The Crosshair IV is an AM3 motherboard and will only support AM3 processors. You would need the Crosshair V Formula or Crosshair V Formula Z to have any FX processor work.

You have a few choices and each requires you to sell some component.

1) Return/Sell your FX 8350 and get an Phenom II X6 (1100T,1090T, 1075T, 1065T, 1055T, 1045T)
2) Sell your Crosshair IV and Buy compatible AM3+ Motherboard for your FX 8350
3) Sell your Crosshair IV, FX 8350, your previous CPU and build an Intel PC

Well the only difference are the clock frequencies and that the 1090T and 1100T have unlocked multipliers for easy OCing. The Phenom II x6 seem to all reach around the 4GHz mark give or take a little. If you're not OCing look at the one with the highest stock clock speeds. If you arw you can pretty much choose whichever depending on if you want save money or a chance of a higher OC. I personally have a 1055T that does 3.8Ghz on a crappy mobo.

YUP i would agree, but in the process of returning AMD FX 8350 and getting a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. The ironic thing is my wifes gaming rig has a Crosshair Formula V in it so if not returned this will be put in there.I no the company will test it and find no fault in it and just send it back so no refund and a processor i should of never really got in the first place. But hey ho my wife will be really happy lol. Thanks for the help onwards and upwards.Have a good one.;)
