AMD 8350 Temps

Hi guys

So im having some problems with my machine, and i think its down to insufficent heatsink and PSU

So just quickly, my hardware monitor is reading cores #1 - #8 as 73*C - 79*C is this dangerously high?

Before it was 62*C

So something is causing this, i might have changed something in BIOS

My heatsink is basic AMD stock

well 79 degrees is definitely high for an AMD CPU.

Try reseating your cooler again with a fresh Thermal Compound.

For the BIOS part restore everything to default and also make sure that your board is not applying some kind of automatic overclock

So after a good long read over the forums, im thinking its time to buy a new mobo and heatsink or water cooler, seem my mobo (Gigabytes LMT76) may not be up to the job of charging my processor with the correct wattage, so even a excellent heatsink will be pushing hard to keep up

Any recommendations to compliment my AMD FX 8350?

Ive just ordered an RM850 watt PSU

im thinking perhaps Sabertooth 990FX OR Crosshairs V Formula Z

Noctua D14 or A water cooling solution?

Also, later down the line ill be looking to upgrade to better RAM than 16gb DDR3 1600MHZ "IS THERE" a major difference in 1600mhz to 1866mhz ive read its pretty much pointless, so at this thought im thinking i need to build a new machine going forward

My machine is used for music production, i want something thats going to run all my plugins smoothly, anyway i think i may need a new thread for this soon

You can go for ASUS mobos as they're pretty stable (personal experience)

The Asus M5A99FX R2.0 has the same chip set as the two motherboards you listed and is a little cheaper.

I would not push it past 4.2 GHz with a stock heatsink.

On another note I find the 8350 is cooler than the 9590 at the same clock.

With a water cooler the same results can be achieved. ( yes I know this is the 6300)
