So I have an asus sabertooth that was sitting in my closet for five years and an 8350. Got a case and the biggest noctua cpu cooler, forget model number but it has the cut out for the ram sticks, barely fits my case. Corsair 1600 32gigs. So I made some changes in bios so everything is ulta fast or extreme under digi control. Set to D.O.C.P. and was able to get 4.9 stable on default cpu voltage. stress testing the cpu never gets past 55c. My question is do I really need to up the cpu voltage to hit 5.0 and greater and is it really worth it. Yes its old technology but I have no problem playing games utilizing my gtx 1060, so gonna keep it running till it wont run no more, thanks for your time

Power draw and temperatures may go up drastically if you start nudging voltage up in a desperate push to 5GHz and being at the very edge of stability means you are that much closer to random crashes if your room gets ever so slightly warmer, your PSU or VRM gets ever so slightly weaker, etc.

Not worth it for a sub-2% improvement IMO.
