Hello everyone!

I was thinking of buying a GTX 1080, however, I won't be able to afford an i7-6700k.
I will get it eventually, but it might take like a month or so.

So I was wondering, how much of a bottleneck would the 860k be?
For example, I saw Overwatch running on max settings with 130+ FPS. That is, using the i7-6700k. So how much performance will I lose?

I'm hoping to atleast get 60 fps.

Sorry if I'm asking for much, I just cant find the same question anywhere else.
Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: I forgot to add that I currently own a Radeon 5700 Series with 512MB of GDDR5 ram. So I hope the GTX 1080 will be atleast a small upgrade.

Depends on the game in some it would likely be quite severe. However in overwatch I would think you would be able to get max settings 60fps at least. A 1080 should provide a large boost to all the games you play versus that old radeon 5700 series card, even with that cpu. Also you dont really need an i7, something like the i5 6500 or i5 6600k if you want to overclock, would be fine with a 1080. You will also need an new motherboard and DDR4 ram to get a skylake i5 or i7, if you didn't already know that.

As the matter of fact, I didn't know that, so thanks for that aswell.

Yeah, I was thinking about the i5, but I would like something that will be considered "good" for the next couple of years.
Cheers!

Another quick question before I pick your answer as the solution:
Is it worth spending an extra 200€ for the GTX 1080?

I think the 1070 is a really good GPU, but I'm just wondering.
