AMD 8650 X3 Overclocked

Hey guys,

I overclocked my cpu today. Its at stock runs 2.3GHZ, I got it up to 2.5ghz and I was wondering what this will do to the lifepan of this cpu. This doesn't seem like a big jump from the threads I have read. But I am just wondering you know?

For some reason I cant get it to validate. When I had it at 2.41GHZ it validated, but ever since I bumped it to 2.5ghz it won't validate.


I just wanna know how far on STOCK COOLING can I go?

it's more the temps that matter.

if it's above 60c then thats when you need to start worrying about cpu lifespan.

Overclocking if done correctly shorts the life of the CPU slightly. I have not burned out a CPU yet.

Ok thanks. But what do you think my risk is to my processor as of now? Overclocked to 2.5GHZ from 2.3GHZ, running at 1.25v 9max)?

You will mostly likely upgrade before your cpu goes out, does that answer your question?
