Amd 940be or 550be..

Hi guys ..

I wondered what people thought of this..

I was going to buy a Phenom 940be (ddr2 set up) but the more I read about a 550be the more I think I can save.

(I'll be running a 4870x2 gpu on a 1920x1200 screen)

It seems the 550 is superb value. I really dont't have the budget for a 955be (ddr3 set up) or an i7.

Thoughts anyone??

Well, with the money saved going from a 940 to a 550 (Have you considered the 720? for 20 dollars more you're getting an extra core. I have mine oc'd on air to 3.4ghz from 2.8.

With the money saved the upgrade to ddr3 wouldnt hurt your pockets and the rest could go in a 4890x2 or 5890 piggy bank
