AMD 960T Black Edition and ASUS M5A97 PRO Bios

Hello,

I am currently getting the AMD 960T Black Edition 3.0 GHz processor with ASUS M5A97 Pro 970 motherboard. I know that the two are compatible but is the Bios out of the box for the motherboard up to date to run with the processor?

I ask this because I do not have any spare processors lying around to flash the bios if an update to the bios is necessary.

The motherboard is released with 0402 BIOS and the 960T is compatible with this first BIOS. You need an BIOS update if you want to run FX processors. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A97_PRO/#CPUS

Awesome thanks, yes I was initially going to get the FX-4100 but learned that it needed a bios update and I had no spare processors to do so. Hence I chose the 960T which is very similar in power but wanted to be sure it would be compatible out of the box. So yea great to know, I should put my order through.
