I m using fx-8350, with an asus m5a97 le r2.0.
It supports it well. But the 970 chipset mobo hv very poor overclocking ability and it has only 1 x16 slot for gpu, other full length slot is running at only x4.
So i would suggest 2 go with at least a cheaper 990fx r2.0 chipset mobo like asus m5a990fx r2.0 mobo, or u can find even cheaper 990fx mobo from other copanies like gigabyte, msi, asrock.
This chipset will give u better oc abilities. Make sure the mobo u purchase is a 990fx "r2.0". The r2.0 boards hv better compatibiliy for newer fx cpu's.

Gud luck...

Better mobo with a higher power phase and ram for FX builds, it can be hard to get 2133mhz working sometimes.
The only other thing I would suggest is Windows 8.1 and a 280x.
