amd 9950 be, mobo and OC question

So, this is my first high-end processor, and my first OC attempt. I'll have help with the actual Overclocking process, however, I need to know which motherboard I should go with? I've been told that I'll probably have to go with a (if I stick with AMD, which I'd like to) 790gx, or fx, chipset motherboard. Past that, I'm lost. I had been mulling over crossfire, and for that I would probably want a board that can support atleast 2 PCI-E 2.0 slots at 16x speeds, but, does that really matter, say, If I'm running 2 4870's?

the only ones really in my price range at this point in time, are the MSI, the open box (yucky), and the cheapest of the ASUS boards.

Please give me some advice! =o

I have the MSI K9A2 Platinum, and it works wonderfully. It does support 2 x 16x GPUs I have reached 2.9(on my 9850)with minor voltage and multi tweaks. MSI does make a really nice board, and is affordable. I suggest the FX chipset, but thats just me. The AMD Overdrive works with the x or later chipsets, which makes OCing a breeze.

The problem i've heard with the MSI board is the placement of the heatpipes... you have to bend them... which voids any warranty you might have...

How important is the SB? What kind of performance difference would i see from a sb750 to a sb600?

The Sb750 supposedly will increase phenom clock speed by about 200mhz automatically just because of the new sb.

As for the MSI board.....I have 2 3870's and they never touch the heat pipes, therefore I did not have to bend them. My case is well ventilated, so heat build up doesnt occur.
