AMD A series CPU with MSI Tomahawk?

Ok so I have an old HP Compaq 6305 that i mostly just dick around with and dissasemble/reassemble, but now im working on a custom Gaming build and I was wondering if I could put the old AMD 3.4Hz Dual Core cpu from the 6305 into my Tomahawk, just as a placeholder until I eventually buy a good CPU (probably a Ryzen 7).
