AMD A10 4600m badly overheating??

My wife just got a laptop which isn't bad specs but one major problem is the heat this laptop generates.

Ouch. 97 celcius at load and 87 at idle?

The thermal paste between the APU and the cooler probably hasn't been applied properly. If you're feeling really confident, you could take apart the laptop and re-apply it yourself. I wouldn't recommend it though, because it's really fiddly and would probably void your warranty.

And speaking of warranties, this is probably something that is covered by one. Take it back to the seller, and they should fix it for you.

Used core temp it shows normal but then when i start hwmontier the temperature jumps up that high.... using coretemp alone its idle 47 degrees Celsius

buy this laptop a week ago and I started to test and I get the same look with CPU stress what comes.

everything seems normal but only if I play too much and I plug the fan if heated legs much but still works.

Thank you this helps 😉 i figure it's something to do with it being a APU.. Man this laptop surprised me I can play tomb raider and bioshock with no problems..............

Hey I just bought the same notebook and I'm having the exact same problem. I use Speccy to see all my specs and it tells me the Temp is at 106 degrees Celcius. I also download Coretemp and that didn't work either. Still showing me the same reading. I contacted Acer and asked them if it was normal. The guy told me that a valid way to check whether it's overheating is to feel the bottom of the notebook. The bottom is no where close to overheating, just slightly warm.
