AMD a10 6800k with radeon r9 270x ?

i currently have the AMD a10 6800k and want to upgrade my graphics card. Will the radeon r9 270x run well with this CPU? I am going to upgrade the CPU aswel in the future but at the moment I am stuck with it and i thought id spend money on a gpu first then i can get a new cpu later on when i can save up enough $$$

You will deffinately see an upgrade to the performance you currently experience. Would it do better with another cpu? Certainly, does that mean this is a bad upgrade? Not at all. If you do not plan to upgrade the rest of the platform, perhaps look at a plain 270. The performance will still be night and day vs what you currently run. You will experience a cpu bottleneck but less so with the 270, mind you im really only suggesting the 270 to save you money as the cpu will not push the 270x to its limits. I doubt it will push the 270 all the way to full load either, but you save maybe 20-60 dollars.

I don't see much advantage in upgrading the A10 6800K CPU, ever... as their would be a very small increase in performance, like 10%

n terms of CPU performance, the A10-7850K is overall an improvement over the A10-6800K. Especially in PCMark 08, the A10-7850K was about 10% faster than the A10-6800K. Our GeekBench benchmark indicated lower single-core performance, but as more and more programs use multi-core technology, that is really not even much of an issue.
The A10-7850K is the fastest A-series APU currently available, yet the CPU performance is much lower than even the Intel Core i5-4440 which is only a mid-range Intel CPU

I'd put my money into a GPU today. When you want a CPU upgrade, replace the Motherboard and CPU will be you only real choice for a Big performance boost.

That said, I put the full budget into a GPU. With the release of the GTX 970 and 980, prices have DROPPED on just about all other previous "top cards"....
The GTX 770, 780, 780Ti are all discontinued and selling for as little as 1/2 what they were less than a year ago (great bargains)

Same for AMD 280, 280X, 290, and 290X, while not "Officially" discontinued, their prices are at an all time low too.

Buy the highest end card you can afford in those listed above.

NOTE: Be sure you have at least a 650watt power supply to support these (yeah, could be by with less on the NVidia's but, just want to assure your aware don't try these with too small a power supply)

i was thinking if im going to get a new cpu and motherboard id get the AMD fx8350 and the MSI AMD 970A-G43 AMD Motherboard(which is super cheap) i like the fx8350(its really good for price) but this motherboard im not so sure about... would u say i should search for a beter motherboard or is this one good for its price?

I'd hold off on a new motherboard & CPU, see IF you need it after you play some games on your new GPU....

MSI AMD 970A-G43, not bad but will limit you to a single GPU (that's second PCI-E is only x4....)
