So I've used Speccy and Core Temp to monitor my system's temperatures. I've used them on my old laptop and my current PC, which are both ASUS.

Funny thing is that I've tried to get answers about this heat issue. I see everyone panicking about having 70 Celsius temperatures for their A10 APU's.
However for my old laptop and current computer the temps are usually in the 90's and at times reach 112 Celsius. When I dust the computer the temps are usually in the higher 70's to higher 90's.

My CPU is the AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.70 GHz.
All of my other specs are in normal temp range.

You see, my old laptop became that hot, and it ran for over 4 years perfectly fine other than hard drive failure once. My laptop had an AMD A8 APU and was an ASUS. I don't use my laptop much anymore, but when I do it works perfectly fine, and the performance isn't terrible. Plus the fact I've used that laptop on average 10 to 17 hours every day. So that laptop is in pretty damn good shape after all of the use. Including gaming. I use this newer PC about the same.

As for this computer. It runs perfectly fine and rarely crashes. I'd say it on rare occasions will crash after waking it up from sleep and rarely when I play a game. And when I say rare... it's very rare.

Right now it's at 98 Celsius. I have music playing, I have my browser open with 3 tabs, and have my new antivirus running. And no, I don't have any viruses and my CPU usage isn't constantly high.

I'm just really confused because my computer works perfectly fine. People tend to panic when I tell them my CPU temps and tell me to shut off the computer immediately. When honestly it runs perfectly fine and games and programs run perfectly fine to where they're supposed to run in performance. Start up is pretty fast and so forth. I've had this computer for a year now. Same for my old laptop, it lasted all 4 years and still works to this day other than the battery being totally shot.

I seem to be the only one running this hot with my APU's. And honestly I'm having absolutely no problems where the heat is at. Is this temperature normal for AMD APU's? People say that the hottest functioning temp is 70 Celsius when it comes to APU's... but mine still functions fine. So... I'm at a loss here. Thanks!

Solution
I suspect, that if those temps are accurate, that your CPU temp sensors are not working properly. If the CPU(APU) was truly that hot, it would throttle back to prevent damage and would be noticeably slower.

I am having a similar overheating issue with my AMD A10-6700 cpu. I am running HWMonitor. It reports a max temperature of over 90 degrees C. The reported fan speed is 1923 rpm with Q-Fan enabled. I started looking into this because two nights ago the computer completely shut down due to reaching the critical cpu temperature. My dilemma is what hardware to check. You mention CPU temp semsors possibly not working properly. Would that be possible since the system automatically shut itself down? I am considering removing the heatsink, cleaning off the old thermal grease, and applying new thermal grease. Does that make any sense? I have never done this before so am a bit reluctant. I don't want to risk making things worse. But at the same time I want to solve this temperature issue before my cpu dies. I appreciate any advice you can offeron this matter. Thanks.

Yes, changing the thermal compound is a good idea. Next time, however, you should start a new thread of your own.
