What i'm really looking for here are performance comparisons between the A58 and A78 chipsets for the FM2/FM2+ motherboards.

From what i understand, the A series are optimized for APUs, and the better chipsets are better at transferring media from the APU to the on-board output.
Am i close?

So ultimately, should i worry too much about getting a slightly cheaper A58 chipset board over an A78 if i will be using a dedicated GPU?

--Thanks as always!

Whether you plan to use the graphical power from the APU or using a dedicated GPU, it is always best to get the latest chipset possible for your CPU of choice. I unfortunately did not realize this on my first build. I am not aware of anymore chipsets coming out in the near future, but certainly there might be a few more to come as the A-series comes to fruition more than it already has.

All in all, better chipset, better life. :)
