Hello all,
I have an Acer Aspire 5560G laptop from 2011. The specs are as follows:
CPU:
AMD 3420M APU w/ Radeon HD 6520M
RAM:
8 GB 1333 RAM
GPU:
Radeon HD 7470M
The issue is, I upgraded to an Intel SSD from the stock HDD. After Acer launched the new drivers for the AMD APU + GPU on their website, I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Now when the HD 7470M is activated in BIOS (Switchable Graphics), the PC will act crazy around boot, and drivers don't work.
The PC will power on, but nothing else will happen. Other times, it will boot all the way to the Windows 7 or 8 icon, and hang. Other times still, it will boot all the way into Windows 7 or 8 and then when a driver is installed, will black screen forcing a hard reset.
The only way to successfully boot with no issues is to only use the APU.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Please help!
🙁
