Hello all,
I am thinking about swapping motherboards, from FM2+ to FM1, because there is a major quality difference between both. The FM1 Mobo contains an A6-3500, and my other FM2+ Mobo contains an A6-7400K. What I am wondering is: which one should I pick and why?

Just based on the chips the 7400K is the superior chip most of the time it would be unlikely that you would find a realistic use case where the A6-3500 is better.

Why CPU -> The A6-3500 is better only in very specific and limited multi-core situations and slower at everything else. If this was between the A6-3650 then the 7400K would be beaten when it comes to the cpu power, but that is a higher clocked (2.6ghz) quadcore and the a6-3500 is a 2.1ghz triple core chip...

If this was between the A6-3650 then the 7400K would be beaten when it comes to the cpu power, but that is a higher clocked (2.6ghz) quadcore and the a6-3500 is a 2.1ghz triple core chip. The A6-7400K is an unlocked dual core 3.5ghz processor with a 3.9ghz boost. Although it is only a dual core the brute force of the a6-7400K's clockspeed and IPC allows it to destroy the older a6-3650.

Why GPU -> The A6-7400K's IGP is based on the newer GCN (GCN 2.0 Sea Islands) architecture and is clocked at 756Mhz with 256 shaders. The A6-3500 has a 443mhz 320 shader VLIW5 based GPU (old HD 5xxx series GPU's). The A6-7400K's GPU has current driver support along with feature updates while the A6-3500's GPU is in extended support with drivers that may occasionally be updated with minor bug fixes. The 7400K's gpu should be faster in every situation involving the GPU and much better for Video's and the like.
