i was wondering about this alot i am going to build my first pc so is a6-5400k good enough for gaming like can it play all the newer games that are coming. i was hoping if that cpu is good enough for like 2 years for starter.

Solution
If you can stretch a little on the budget the 4 core a8 would be a better bet imo, I've an a8-5600k at 4ghz (turbo disabled) without discrete graphics and it plays some stuff fine. Cant really see the a6 playing future games really well even with separate gfx card.

I can thanks man 😛

The AMD A6-5400K can run most of the latest games for 2 years. Although, it will barely run graphics intensive games at lowest settings. I agree with con635's suggestion of getting an A8 because it's quad core and has a more powerful integrated GPU.

I will surely go for it now 😛 thanks :)

I wouldn't go with less than a quad core APU. I have a question, do you plan on using a graphics card or just the integrated graphics? if you plan on going with a graphics card then don't waste money on the A Series. Get an Athlon x4 760k and you'll have a richland A-8 for the under 100.00. If you do need the ingrated graphics then get an A8 or A10 if you can.

yeah i am planing to go with the intergrated graphic for my first build later on when i have more money to spend on future i will not go for a series i will not make a budget pc then but i think this is a fair first build budget pc for now so i can play something until i have money to make a real one :)

i agree with others on a8 5600k

but wait for fm2+ first boards to come out the micro atx are usually cheap

i think they come out this month in a few days

id recomend this one

this way you can upgrade later for a stronger processor of the new kaveri chipset later which is suppose to be far better leaving you a option to upgrade to a far better chip

it should be noted the new kaveri chip is suppose to have a 7750 like graphics which is pretty powerful for a apu

Hey, I just thought, you are looking for a starter PC right? How much exactly is your budget? Here's a $350 gaming PC capable of playing all the latest games.

This build will last you for 2 years of graphics intensive gaming and about 5 years of light to moderate gaming. I would suggest that you buy another PC after 2 years with the same budget as this.

i probably go for it i can wait :)

yeah the thing is that i already got a aerocool x1 predator evil edition case and lite on optical drive from my friend. He gave it to me on my birthday in case if i will build a pc he is not from my area but i already got that for free and i might as well go for this one but the thing is i now live in thailand in pattaya so it'll be a little more expensive to buy for me but i know i can find it here cause i live just near a big computer shop center i could probably find it there but thank you for this i am more intrested in this because most my friends use intel so i've heard a lot how intel is good so i might pick that one if it is sold here still if it does it be amazing thanks this exectly gives me comfort because i can trust intel more than amd cause most my friends use intel 😛

Well, that's good to hear.
As for the CPU: Any intel processor that uses LGA1155 socket and has more than 2.5ghz is fine.
As for the Video Card: Any brand of GTX 650 Ti or HD 7790 is fine.
As for the Motherboard: Any LGA1155 motherboard is fine.
As for the RAM: Any RAM that is 4GB or bigger is fine.
And most importantly, as for the PSU: Any trusted brand of PSU that has more than 400w is fine. Some trusted PSU brands are: Antec, Corsair, XFX, and Seasonic. Also, NEVER use a low quality PSU. I am from Asia and there are tons of low quality PSUs here, so try to avoid them.

thanks i keep that in mind :)

with kaveri on the horizon waiting for fm2+ will be the best choice id just wait and save up for a 4 core streamroller with 7750 performance its not been confirmed yet but i suspect you can duel graphics with a 7750 or 7770 if so then thats gonna be a hell of a jump and a better budget system

i know the price range of the boards micro atx is probly going to be 60-70 dollars

a8 will be enough to handle any game on low with the die being so close to a 7750

im also planning a budget build hence why im waiting

its estimated to be 2013 december 2014 january or early feburary but since these boards are being released in a few days to a month we may see the chips out at the end of this year. I just hope they also make fx streamroller cores for fx line as people have been waiting for it and theres been no word of cancelations on it.
