AMD A6-5400k graphics memory problem

i bought an AMD A6-5400k apu with radeon HD graphics 7540D

my Problem is that , the graphics memory size is only 512mb. i search all over the internet and found out that the actual size should be 1024mb(1GB) . is it a factory defect or that's just how it is? or can it be configure?

My Specs:
MoBo- ASUS A55M-E
CPU - AMD A6-5400k
Ram - 2GB, 669.9MHZ kingston
OS - Win7 Ulti 64bit.

you vram buffer is set to auto by default....so depending on the amount of ram you have, the motherboard makes the necessary adjustment.

i suggest you put in at least another 2gb RAM before you manually set your vram to 1gb via bios

Thanks for the suggestion . it went up to 768mb. do i still need to add another Ram? how do i set it via bios? like overclocking?

every bios looks different....consult your motherboard manual for more details.
