Hello,

I been thinking about upgrading my CPU because it is running slow lately, but with my current MB I only can get a CPU with a FM-2 socket. I dont want to spend much money so upgrading my whole MB+CPU+RAM is too much. But the A10-6800K lays around 90 bucks. So my question is, is it worth the €90? And will I see a difference? My current CPU is already 4 years old and is hitting high temps while idling too (60 degrees)

Specs:
CPU: AMD A8-6600k quad core 3,9 GHz
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 280 gaming 3G
PSU: Cooler master G650M
RAM: 8 GB
MB: MSI FM2-A55M-P33

Thanks in advance!

Not even remotely worth it.

A10 will give you very very little gains, an Athlon 860k will be cheaper but still not give you gains to be worth the $$

Bottom line, the best CPU you can get in the entire FM2 platform can't beat an i3 from 2014, so to get any sort of worthwhile upgrade you need to get out of the FM2 hole and get into a decent platform (intel 1151 or AMD AM4).

Do you have any recommandations for new parts with a Ryzen 5 1600?

What temperature monitor are you using when stating the 60 deg C idle temp? I suspect you're using something other than AMD Overdrive. If so, then on a technical level (so to speak) that is inaccurate.

However, personal experience across many software temperature monitors suggest a reported 60 deg C at idle is not uncommon. I would still suggest you download AMD Overdrive to check your thermal margins (the thermal headroom to overheating).

Ye my brother has this in his pc which he got prebuilt on ebay from a good seller. He regrets it now that i have explained gaming requirements to him and he can't run the games he wants as the cpu can't handle games like Player Unknowns Battle Grounds or any of his other multiplayer games he has. Its okay for old single players games like Skyrim.

Your CPU isn't worth switching for another in the same socket family, you'd have to get a new mobo and cpu.

they are kinda same don't worh 90$ to spend for a little higher frequency and a10-6800k gonna be hotter than your current chip so you have to buy a better cpu cooler and it doesn't worth it.
