hello everyone,

ive been looking over the net lately about using amd gpus with an nvidia gpu and using it as a ppu.
but i cant find many ways to do it, i dont know what gtx to buy, and is it worth it.
will the CUDA cores and PHYSX capability help during dvd converting, game play, etc...
also can i use a low end gtx card that requires NO pci-e power leads? as i dont have any spare

this is my current spec
FX-8350 @4.8
asus sabertooth 990fx
2x XFX radeon 7950 @ 1000core, 1400mem
12 gb ddr3 1333mhz ram
120 sandisk extreme ssd
1td wd hdd
corsair tx750m

thanks for any help
marc

At least 2-3 years ago there are famous term and technique called gedeon (geforce radeon)
Which is using amd card as the main card and geforce card to calculate physix..

But i don't know if this technique still exist in newer driver (and newer gpu arch) of both card..

Since gamers not really care about nvdia physx stuff, well, there's almost none of games that using this geforce cards feature..

Hybrid crossfire doesn't work anymore. You could make it work but you would have to use older drivers and you would need to have a motherboard that supports it.

I do believe Nvidia disable PhysX acceleration when there is an AMD GPU in the same system, in order to prevent that sort of thing. Anyway, you'd really have to be in love with PhysX effects to buy an extra graphics card just for that.

As far as I can tell, this has nothing to do with hybrid crossfire.

I call nvidia and ati gpus together hybrid crossfire
