Getting an APU and a GPU would be kinda counterproductive. I would suggest an Intel CPU and mobo with the GPU.

No, The motherboard is an FM2, and the CPU is FM2+, fm2 cpu's are compatible with FM2+ motherboards, but not the other way round unfortunately

If you are going with discrete card then I suggest either going AMD FX series or Intel I3 or I5 based on budget.

The motherboard is already installed came with the PC. I've already purchased and installed The R9 270X. i upgraded my PSU to 700 watt from 350. When i powered up nothing on the screen and the pc froze up. I need to know what i need to make this work. sorry but this is all new to me and this is a project I'm working on for my grandson.

Since you have a video card, I suggest the Athlon X4 760K , that would be the fastest available chip without integrated graphics for that motherboard.
