AMD APU Upgrade require bios update??

I currently have a Biostar A55mh mobo with A4-3300. I'm about to purchase A8 3850 to upgrade but am unsure if it is a simple plug and play or requires a bios update or flash. Please help?!

Generally, you won't need a BIOS update. Both of those APUs are from the same generation, so your motherboard will have support for both.

You can update the BIOS if you want. It isn't that hard to do, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Here is the CPU support page for your motherboard. According to it, you are good to go.
