AMD APU Upgraded RAM issue

Me and a friend seem to have an issue with the upgraded RAM on an AMD system, HP Pavilion 17-f232nr. Seems like it gets blue screens anything from Driver IRQL not less or equal, Memory Management, kernel, etc depending on how it boots and when it BSODs. We upgraded it from it's PC3L 8 gigabytes to a gaming DDR3 16 gigabyte two RAM sticks instead of one, Corsair Vengeance. My friend is going into IT but he can't figure out what the issue is an I'm annoyed because an APU could always use more RAM. Please help.

TL;DR: I'm having an issue with AMD, BSODs after upgrading its PC3L 1x8 RAM to 2x8 gig DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Gaming RAM.

This is an issue with the system firmware. We loaded the PC3L back in and we're gonna update the system firmware whenever I see him again to see if that fixes the issue.

Need DDR3L RAM not DDR3 for a computer that originally had PC3L RAM on it.
