AMD ASUS R9 280x Crashing while in game

So i got a ASUS Radeon R9 290X dIRECTcu II TOP 3GBGDDR5 GPU from a friend and it has been crashing while in game playing on high settings i suspect the GPU is bad since its a used card , IT CRASHES and shows a yellow screen with lines across and i have to hard reset every time very annoying even ran a GPU stress test (fumark) and it also crashed , i have latest software drivers installed card is also not OC. has anyone ran into issues with this card? not sure if this can be fixed or the card is on its way out any help would be great Thanks

Ah, how old is the card? It could be that its been abused too much. it sounds a lot like artifacting. I have had relatively good luck with EVGA vended NVIDIA cards. I would recommend them if buying a new card is the route you go to.


It various sometimes after 15-20 mins of gaming and sometimes 5-10 mins I can’t get past an hour of gaming it crashes well before that
