the 4000+ has a higher clock speed so that would increase its performance in gaming but would that really outweigh all the other benifits of the X2?

Which cpu would be better overall?

Splendid
Dual core is best suited to those who do professional encoding, or those who call for support during a power failure. If you dont belong to either group, the single core is best.

Yup. If you are just gaming and doing simplistic things then go the faster dual core.

But if like me you do lots of media encoding, have multiple applications running and 2 copies of FOLDING @ HOME running then the dual core rules the roost.

note also the single core has a larger individual cache, and that will help games a little.
