I want to overclock my processor because I think that it is limiting the power of my ATI Radeon 4850. I think so because, either on low or high settings, my fps hardly changes always staying around 20-30. And also, whenever I restart my computer and start playing Age of Conan, my fps is very high, then as I continue to play, it decreases from 30-40 to 20-30. So if I OC my processor, do you think i'll be able to maintain 30-40, without restarting my computer every time? And i'm currently using a 430watt Antec PSU, is that enough to power an OCed processor? This will be my first time attempting to overclock, and if anyone has any specific guides for what i'm trying to do, I'd appreciate it. :)

Your decaying FPS quoted here "start playing Age of Conan, my fps is very high, then as I continue to play, it decreases from 30-40 to 20-30." is due your 2gb of memory. Go to a 4gb set up and you will see almost no decay. This is due to memory leaks and a loading up of the page file. poorly made PC games do this. I also have a 4850 with a athlon x2 5600 @ 2.9ghz with two GB of mem. GRand theft auto 4 had a horrible FPS decay untill I went to 4GB's. Windows Vista reconizes 3.3 of mine even with my 1gb vcard. Both of our processors are bottlenecking our vcards. OCing will help, but for best performance we both need a quad core. I was running a 2.4 single core with my 4850 for about a month. My single core on 3dmark06 got 6000 marks @1280x1024. with my dual im getting 10,000 marks. ANd looking at people with triple cores, they are getting 15,00-18,000. Quads are over 20,000 marks, with the 4850. Your power supply will be enough to power your OC'd card. As for guides they are everwhere on this site you shouldn't need to search but 2 min for one.

Ooh, so what if I OCed my RAM as well?

expect to see almost 0 difference. If you look at some of the articles here about ram speeds you will learn that vast increased like from 1066mhz to 1600mhz may only give around a 3-5% increase of performance depending on the application. So in my opinion oc mem is not worth it.
