AMD Athlon II x4 630 Temperatures

I have just bought myself a gaming rig and I'm new to the whole things, I live in Cyprus which in the summer it can get up to 50C outside, and I've been doing abit of reading up and it says my CPU shouldn't really go above 65C, At the moment it runs at about 20-25C Ideal, and 35-40C Load, so my question is, how do you know what temperature is good when its very warm outside and inside your room, because I've heard people saying it depends on ambient temperature.

the x4 630 runs actually cool, as my x4 620 does....for a quad, they run cold compared to intels...especially underload....i would not take my computer outside in the heat under any circumstance...you have to understand one thing about electronics , or computers as far as that goes...they do not like HEAT.

I would never take my computer outside, thats not what I'm worried about, what I'm saying is, people say 60-65c is a good max temp for this cpu chip, but they say you must take things in to consideration when working out the temp, like room temp and stuff, so if it was 40 - 50c weather in my country, would my cpu be hotter or just seem hotter because the sensor is picking up room temp.

Normally the CPU will stay a few c above ambient which is the temp around it. 50c is not bad but it will probably hit 55-60c when its under load since in idle it tends to downclock and use a lower voltage.

BTW, I live in Tucson AZ that normally hits 120f (50c) in the summer and my CPU never goes above 55c, and I have a Q6600.

Your temps will report correctly even if the ambient is high. What the high room temp effects is the heat sink fans ability to move the heat from the cpu to the air. The air isn't as willing to accept the heat so your fan doesn't work as well. But the temps your monitoring app report are correct and just keep those below a temp you feel comfortable with.

Are you overclocking? If not, you're not going to get near a temp issue. If you do, during the summer, you might have to back off the voltage if you increased it if your temps to get above 70.

Are you using the stock HSF or an aftermarket? An aftermarket will be better in a room with higher temps than the stock fan.

I would not let my room get hot when computer is on ,,,,turn on the air conditioning....i usually keep my room no hotter than 75 fairhiet, or 24 c. the sensor that picks up the temp on the cpu would of course get warmer when the room gets warmer...as for cpu temp,,it goes up when room gets warmer, and down on cooler room... you can buy an aftermarket cooler if you are really worried..or go water or something along those lines

Yes I have the stock cooler and I willl be looking to get a after market cooler before summer as I didn't think I would need to buy one straight away and I was right. I do not know anything about overclocking and never thought about attemping it because I am happy with the speeds my computer gives at stock. I will have a fan in my room in the summer to cool the room down so will that help to keep the computer cool and what after market fan would you suggest for my cpu.

I also wouldn't mind water cooling but I don't know where to start with that and I would prob need to buy a new PSU to power it, which I don't mind, so if you can suggest a good water cooler setup aswell, that would be great. thanks

Thanks everyone for there imput, I know now what ever my temperature reading is, that is what it is, just all I need to do now is get a good setup with either a fan and case fans or water cooling, but don't know where to start.

Honestly, if you're not OC'ing, you should be fine with the stock fan even with higher room temps. Just monitor what your temps hit during the summer and if they are safe, save the money and hassle. Watercooling is completely unnecessary. Big air does just as good a job as the sealed water like the Corsair H50 and you're no where the temps to justify a real water system.
