I've recently bought a simple aftermarket cooler in the hopes that I would be able to do a little overclocking, something I've never done before. Based on things I've read here, I got it up to 3.45 GHz by increasing bus speed to 230 MHz without BSOD. I increased CPU voltage to 1.4 V and NB to 1.1 V and didn't touch anything else.

Prime95 gave a one rounding error after 58 minutes. I jacked up the memory voltage to 1.55 V on my 8 GB of GSkill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL and tried again. Prime95 crapped out hard enough while I was watching a movie that it had to restart my computer. Unknown error time of under 2 hours.

So I hit F5 in BIOS and decided to run Prime95 on blend overnight, using all my free physical memory. I was kinda hoping it would crap out, meaning I have faulty RAM (from what I've read). However, it is 13 hrs later and it's still working hard on all 4 cores.

Looking at videos and such, I'm seeing that my mobo's BIOS is just not OC-friendly. I tried setting the timings and frequency on my RAM and it's just not working out (Prime95 error in seconds). I tried dropping my RAM frequency, but that's a BSOD.

Basically, all I want is 3.5 GHz stable. What can I do to make that happen?
