Not really, especially when you consider that core unlocking is never a sure thing. On a tight budget, get a Pentium G3258 and overclock it.

No, will not that be good for games, you wil be much much better off if you save up the extra money for a fx-6300.

i have amd motherboard that's why and isn't cheap and i think if that 2 cores i can play games like far cry 3 ...

The cpu is old and rather slow and is not going to run newer games very well.

If your motherboard is AM3+ then get a fx-6300

The 340 is a FM2 socket. I assume if he's looking into such a cheap CPU, he hopefully has a MOBO to match it already.
