Hello,

First of all i'm really new to overclocking so please bare with me thanks, So lets get to it I'm really want to overclock my CPU from stock 3.0ghz to at least 3.5ghz to have more FPS on CSGO however when i play on my values in the BIOS i'm having some problems like First Boot not booting but after 2nd or 3rd it'll boot and run smoothly & also i just experienced a screen freeze i don't know what its called but i need to push the turn off button for it to restart.

I also think it might have something to do with my PSU since i'm running a generic 500 watts CPU from my Casing & please take a look at my Specs from CPU-Z for more info.

BTW my cpu is also running cool at 25C on IDLE & 45- 55C Stressed / GPU 42C IDLE & 60-65C Stressed.
Is this a problem with my RAM or i need to upgrade my PSU? Thanks for the help!

Yes, replace your PSU. Any generic PSUs likely awful and not good for OC. A bad PSU can set your system on fire.

For that CPU, should keep 60c at all times. A stock cooler isn't going to be any good for OC.

What are you using for the GPU?

3.5 ghz is very high for that CPU. You won't be able to reach that with stock cooler and terrible PSU.

That is an old CPU, OC'ing won't help much in modern games. Best to save for a low budget system than to spend money on this. (A good PSU can carry over to your next build)

Follow the guide below to OC your system, (pic links are broken due to age, just read.)

I mean even just at least 3.3 or 3.4ghz, I have an extra PSU which is Corsair VS450 500watts. Will that PSU do the job? I mean my processor is running good i just need a little fps for some games and those are not modern games btw, I'm also gonna buy a Corsair CPU cooler so i just need the proper configuration/timings since i'm new to OCING, Thanks!

I'm currently using SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 1GB PCI-E.
