Hi. Should i replace my Athlon X4 740 Quad Core with A10 7850K or is it enough for gaming? As i checked Passmark, there is not big difference (4000 vs 5600 points)

Solution

If you have Discrete gpu A10-7850k Is not good idea better take X4 860K

Overcloking is cheapest and best option in this case :)
And X4 740 @ 4.5Ghz win in all test games vs X4 860 or A10-7850K on stock speed :)
Are you overclocking it? you might get some juice from single core performance if you overclock it. If the processor is taking your gaming needs without problem then why upgrade? if you are not happy with your rig's performance regarding gaming, then yes you should upgrade. It is not a good processor for gaming, but it depends what your needs are.

Well,im bit afraid of overclocking, because its AMD,im worried that OS will be unstable by then. Im planing to play Wolfenstein New Order and games like CoD Ghost etc. With NFS Rivals i dont have any problems,so i might go better for GPU,where is biggest difference in Passmark.

Just try the game and see what happens. If you can't play it then consider overclocking. If you want to stick with AMD you are going to have to overclock at some point anyway. If you want to forget about overclocking then you will need a new mobo and an intel processor.

you have to handle the high-density library design of an APU, and the thermal headroom in an APU is significantly lower than a normal CPU.
Like one of the poster above, either overclock the current chip of yours, or get the 860K
