AMD Athlon X4 840 Overclock

How can I overclock the Athlon X4 840?
Overdrive does nothing, the BIOS is missing the settings i need to actually do this, and i can't find any guides for this CPU.
Bios is MSI Click Bios 4.

The 840 is a locked SKU, meaning multiplier overclock is not possible. Base clock overclock will be severely limited due to tied PCI bus, meaning a few MHz at best. Research before you buy next time.

Thats interesting. According to my PC builder, it is an unlocked processor.

Your PC builder either lied or was misinformed. The unlocked FM2+ Athlon SKUs all have a K in the model name, example: 860K.

Also interesting is that the 840 is an OEM CPU, not even available for retail.
