I'm sorry if this is a repost but I have tried to find a post like it but cannot.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me why I am getting lag during my gaming. I have literally just build the pc, it has 4 fans that are pretty decent so there is good airflow and I have this as my set up;

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz (Not Overclocked)
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 380 2GB
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo

With this set up I feel that I should be able to play even some new games with High Graphics but I kept lagging whilst playing COD: Advanced Warfare and that shouldn't be as demanding as it was.

Can someone help me out because it is really frustrating, I also seem to be getting around 50 degrees idle when checking bios but the cpu cooler is properly installed with proper thermal paste. I cant seem to find the problem. HWMonitor is also giving me widely varying temps so I cannot seem to get accurate readings.

First computer build so the name is very accurate, if any info is needed i'll try and supply is asap.

Solution
Any lag or stutter you are experiencing would be attributable to the CPU. The 860K is a great little CPU but it is not fast enough to avoid those kind of problems when gaming online on a busy multiplayer server with A games. I had one.
Unless you OC the CPU, it is probably even bottlenecking the R9-380 somewhat.
