Hi,

So I am building a pc (I don't have all the parts yet) and I am looking for a CPU, is the AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core good for gaming? The graphics card that I am buying is the Asus Radeon R9 380X 4GB (in case you needed to know).

Thank you.

If you are on a tight budget then I would probably go for the G3258 over the Athlon x4 860K, although both are low end for gaming. The advantage of the Intel CPU is that it is faster, better for overclocking and has better upgrade path without changing mobo.

Obviously, the best thing to do is save a bit more and get either an i3 or fx6300 which will give better performance (I am assuming money is tight). Alternatively you could get the R9 380 and put the extra towards the CPU.
