I am a complete newbie in AMD builds as all my computer builds have been Intel, yup, the otherside

I want to get a Mini ITX board that is capable of running an AMD processor without the complication of updating the BIOS/UEFI

The question being, since I'm leaning towards this board

MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC

I want to know what memory is compatible with this board? I want to use this CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or is the memory not down to the type of CPU?

B450 motherboards will be completely compatible with the 2xxx series CPUs like the 2700x. The 450 motherboards were released specifically for the 2xxx series CPUs. If you want 3xxx guaranteed compatibility, the B450 MAX motherboards have that compatibility.
