Note the minimums, as it is what makes for smooth game-play. For the right price they can be acceptable, but the upgrade pathway for the AM3+ platform is beyond over, whereas Intel offers more choice (until the new AM4 'Ryzen' products launch from AMD).
I would definitely go Intel. Anything of AMD that is currently available is about 5 year old technology and is easily beaten in performance by the majority of Intel's i3,i5, and i7 CPUs. Now if AMD Ryzen comes out before you make your purchase, I would consider them if they perform anywhere near what they are supposed to, but I would not for a second recommend going with any current AMD CPUs.

So the intel i3 would beat the AMD in games and editing? I heard more cores is better for editing.

OK thanks!

Now what would be better? The i3 6100 or the i3 7100?

If you can wait about another month, though, I *think* the Ryzen chips are supposed to come out in March. I'm definitely holding off on any upgrades myself until I see how the CPU performance and price landscape looks after the Ryzen release.
