AMD burn video

In 2001 Toms hardware guide showed a video where a Athlon and Athlon MP get burned when heatsink removed during operation while the Pentium 3 and 4 do not burn.

Now I heard there's a video made by AMD showing the Athlon survives, I tried finding this video in google using many keywords, all I found was amdzone.com address that didn't work.

Does anyone know where I can download the AMD produced video?

You heard wrong. Neither the Athlon XP or the MP have thremal throttling and so, taking off the heatsink would results in [evil voice] Burning! [/evil voice]

Sorry Ned. The newer amd chips have an ondie thermal cutout. In the event of overheating, the system shuts down.

Either way, I would want to watch the video AMD themselves made using the same cpu.

Maybe you are thinking of the Athlon64 chips. They turn off the system, if the processor starts to overheat.

No, tomshardware themselve said that AMD made a video using the same Athlon cpu to counter what was showed on THG video.

probly was when they integrated the thermal diode afterwards. In the barton core I think.
