Since the update on win 8.1 AMD CCC won't work. I know this topic has been discussed many times, still I don't get it working.
This is what I've tried so far:
- reinstall win 8&8.1
- trying it with different versions of the AMD CCC (last try with 13.9 and the newest, 13.11 / 13.12)
- trying different workarounds like uninstall the graphic card in the device Manager

My computer is a Samsung 700z3a-s02ch, graphics: AMD Radeon™ HD6490M. I run win 8.1 64bit

Any suggestions?

Solution
I really don't know, man. You DL the installer, install it, then the folder is empty...I honestly have no clue why that would even happen.
Thank you for your answer.

I did download the latest driver once more... and it worked. Well, it seemed to work since there was no warning during installation and at the end it told me the installation was successful. But there was no CCC on my computer. The folder was just empty. Any ideas?

Are you sure it just didn't install somewhere else? Try running a search for it. If you can't find it, try re-downloading it.

Yes I'm sure. I did it 5 times by now still it doesn't work. On other forums there is a workaround suggesting to install it in save mode. But it doesn't work there neither. Maybe I just wait for the next version?

Hmmm...That is quite bizarre...You've un-installed it via your control panel right? That's very odd that it won't show up anywhere.

I've uninstalled via control panel, yes.

Maybe the installation log helps:

Solution just go to C:\Program Files\AMD\CCC2\Install
there a cc2_install file will be present, click that and your problem will be solved :)

I have the same issue, CCC is nowhere to be found. So I checked my program files for the AMD folder, but there is no AMD folder there, only ATI and ATI Technologies, which both do not contain CCC2\Install.

Any ideas how I should get this folder/install file?

I'm having the same issue and it is preventing me from resizing my screen borders. I cant see my tool bar, window size controls when in full screen or my outermost desktop icons. Its making my system unusable. I've had to use Team Viewer from my laptop as an input device which is ridicules! This is a real problem as it is the only input device for my 65inch TV in my living room where I also work with clients. Please help.

hi, i found a simple solution to solve the issue

go to this site: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download its for the driver

download 'AMD clean unistall utility'

and download 'Automatically detect and install'

the unistall utility will remove all amd related drivers and the other one will reinstall all necessary driver

it works for me, hope it helps...

uhhm yeah i have an Samsung NP535U3C A03NL and a AMD RADEON HD 7500G and have installed the beta version 14.3 but it is the same problem on my computer and i have installed everytime en everything from 13xx to 14xx but it doesn't works. I have windows 8.1 pro

Greetings Jamie

I have similar issue I am running Windows 8.1 +Update on my system AMD CCC worked great until I installed the 14.6 Beta figured well its the beta uninstall everything and installed 14.4 the stable version directly from AMD and installed the drive but I continue to have the same issue that CCC will not open I have ran it as admin and directly from the install folder I see the little blue circle for a second like it is going to open but nothing happens.

If all else fails do the "refresh" option which I had to do to get Catalyst to work after upgrading from win 7.
It's a PITA to have to reinstall everything but if all else fails I think that should do the trick.

I have a asus hero11 4790k running two r290x when I updated to 14.9 the computer crashed and would freeze with different colours on the screen .in the end I unplugged both cards power supplys and plugged hdmi into onboard graphics then uninstalled amd drivers ran a benchtest all good then I plugged one card in and restarted. windows supplied driver all good then ran another bench test to make sure it was working and then did the same for second card. it now all works but I wont be installing any amd drivers ever again

I had this problem as well on win 8.1. (64 Bit) with CCC Version 14-9. I tried different solutions which all didn't work for me.
However, I just checked all folders under C:\Users\...\AppData and found some ATI folder with ACE subfolder in several locations. As a desperate attempt I simply deleted every ATI folder I found under AppData and ... BAMM, CCC finally works again. I didn't even need to restart.

it doesnt work for me i found 2 ATI folders with ACE subfolder in 2 places one empty and the other got files when i deleted the then opend my CCC still got the same problem that saying "there are currently no settings that can be configured using Catalyst Control Center."

sorry to hear that. Apparently you have a different base problem, since in my case (before "fixing" the issue) I didn't get any error message at all. When i was trying to open CCC, my mouse cursor indicated a process for some seconds but nothing else ever happened. No error, no window, nothing. However, I did try several other suggestions before, including re-installation of the drivers etc. It might be, that it was the combination of one of the previous attempts and the removal of ATI folders that did the trick for me... Anyway. I hope you find an answer somewhere. These stupid AMD driver problems can be really annoying.

Simple fix

Open the Task manager than try to open the Amd catalyst control,it wont open yet.
on the task manager you should see it working, right click on it and go to details
and it will open.
I discovered this by accident.i went into tech mode cause i use to be a cable/satellite installer.lol

ENJOY

by the way this trick works for almost every app that wont open after installation
