AMD Catalyst doesnt detect my third monitor?

I just got my third monitor today and hooked them all up to my graphics card and only 2 of them are being detected in Catalyst but theya re all being detected in windows but it says the third monitor doesnt work in the setup I have. I have one monitor hooked up with an hdmi to DVI-D, another one hooked up with hdmi to hdmi, and the last one hooked up with hdmi going from the monitor to an adapter to displayport into the computer. Am I using the wrong cable connections? please help I would like to get this setup.

you need an active adapter for a third or more monitors to work
