AMD CPU recom. boards

Im planning to buy a new pc, all the guys who out there have a Amd cpu, id like to have some information... first of all, can you tell me the best mb's for Duron 800 (socket a), which have the best quality/price... and same thing for Thunderbird 800... and a question , a bit out of topic, is the difference between duron and athlond tb. very huge... where the huge l2 cache difference comes out? (duron has 64k L2cache, athlon 256k)...

According to Pricewatch.com a Duron 800 cost $72 while a T-bird is $106. For $34 more go with the T-bird, the larger cache will perform significantly better. Also I am a fan of Giga-byte boards. You will see very few posts about them here because they run marginally slower and the guys that post here are speed freaks. You can pick up the Giga-byte ga-7zxr-1 for about $100. I have ran one of these boards for the last couple of months and it has worked perfectly.

i belibe gigabyte's good, but theres no gb boards in our local store... 🙁
