AMD cpu tier

Hi, does anyone know what tier Amd:s Phenom II X4 820 2,8 GHz lands at in the hierarcy chart.
As of rigth now i have an 9350e but i can get a hold of the 820 for a small buck, don´t know if it´s worht it tough.

It would be about the same performance as the Phenom II X4 920. However, the 820 has a slightly smaller L3 cache.

But the 820 runs cooler and uses less watts.

Do you know which MB is in your system? The reason I ask, is because it sounds like it has a AM2/AM2+ socket and may require a BIOS update for the Phenom II to be recognized.

Yes I have GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev. 1.1) which is a AM2+ and AM3 ready MB. Gigabyte has a list of compatible prossecors that also shows which bios is needed.

Thank you for all the help. That driver updater seems handy, I think I´ll try it if I do the uppgrade.
