So, i use CPU Boss like A LOT but i was searching about some CPUs, and it seems the difference between them is like... almost null from the website's perspective, even though each of the CPUs' purpose is different.

So i have 3 CPUs in mind: A8-7650K , FX-6300 and Ryzen 5 1400
Each one of these CPUs is cheap af and the hardware is kinda similar, but i don't believe the difference is like null or almost null in gaming. I do know the A8 is an APU so using it with a dedicated GPU will make half of it's purpose useless, but it's still not a horrible CPU in any way. The FX is old but has 6 Cores, and the Ryzen is basically the A8 with more cache, but what difference is there between each one in gaming? Is it worth it to change from one to another?

Just wondering...

Solution
The ryzen is far from an a8 with more cache mate, its an entirely different cpu entirely.
for starters its hyper threaded - meaning 4 physical cores but with double the thread count (akin to an intel i7 in that respect)

Ipc wise (meaning clock for clock) it has some 40% gain over both the a8 &the fx 6300.

Meaning at its base clock of 3.2 (although it does boost a fair bit higher) its the equivalent of the older cpu's running at around 4.5ghz.

& no the a8 is a horrible cpu mate honestly, the whole benefit of the apu's was they held fairly decent integrated graphics.
The 6300 is manageable IF you overclock it ,but both those options are on dead end sockets & boards now.

The ryzen is a far far superior choice

Edit - beaten by dunlop...
The Ryzen 1400 is by far the best CPU out of the 3 of them. The FX 6300 is like 7 years old at this point, it may have six cores but it is on an old dead platform and it's single core performance is not good by today's standards. The A8 is not comparable to ryzen at all, it is a kaveri CPU with similar IPC to the FX 6300. The Ryzen 1400 is the only CPU out of the three I would consider for a modern gaming system.
