AMD crimson problems

did everyone read the news on reddit about the new amd crimson driver burning card and other should amd refund the one you lost there gpu .

They say its a combination of the following that cause that to happen

-Non-reference card
-Enabling Overdrive
-Changing settings using 3rd party software like MSI Afterburner

And it's not affecting everybody, i myself have a R9 270X and im not having any troubles with my fan speed.
I'd say that you shouldn't be doing anything close to what the according to AMD is the problem.

My 290x also is working fine. The issue is locking the fan speed at 20%. If you use a 3rd party tweak utility and manually configure the fan speeds yourself, no more problem. Even without doing that, it doesn't seem to be affecting mine so it seems it's not as widespread as some people would have you believe because nobody else with an AMD card I've spoken with about this has had the issue either.


Plus, a beta version was released today that addresses the fan issue.

There is a problem with fan speed adjusting on newest drivers. Get newest 15.11.1 beta drivers, that problem was supposedly addressed and fixed.

some news on the new crimson driver update i got it in my system and it rase the fan speed from 1225 with the latest ccc to 1274 rpm and lower my temp of 1 degres this is all on a r9 380 gi gaming 4 gig , thank's all to the one who anwser since crimson was out on monday .
