Amd crossfire problem

I have two amd 6970 (crossfire) but it seems that only one of them are running. The fan is running and according to windows it is working properly but at catalyst it is clearly not running, exept the fan.
What could be the problem? My first thought is that the crossfire bridge is damaged or the card

You playing in full screen mode or window mode? and Also for the 6970 I used the old driver the one without the new menu it lets you enable and disable crossfire and in my opinion a lot more easy to use.
