Question AMD Custom Refresh not working ?

Just got a new 6900xt, first time in a long time back to AMD.

I always overclocked my monitor with ease to 100+Hz using nvidia but I can only do 89Hz with the amd software, it says the settings are not compatible with anything over 89

which is weird. I get that you cannot go to whatever # you want but how would it know what my monitor can handle ?

Is there something I'm missing?

why does that matter? I've had this monitor for years, always overclocked it with nvidia no problem, I could put 500000 if I wanted, my monitor would just show black.
I'd have to make sure I have a # that my monitor could handle. 130hz would be too much and I would get artifacts, so I kept it around 110htz and it was perfect.

because Freesync is capped @90Hz on some monitors.
