Hey, I've got a Radeon R9 280, I wanted to update my drivers to play cod ww2, i've tried deleting my old drivers with a software completely first and then try to install the latest one, I only managed to update it to 17.7.1 and I am not able to change my resolution to 1980 x 1080, the best I got is 1600x1200, when I go into radeon additional settings I get the message saying Radeon Additional Settings cannot be started. Could anyone help me out please?

Solution
First, completely uproot your old drivers with DDU (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) then reinstall AMD's new Adrenalin driver. see if that works.

and how did you "delete" your old drivers? did you use the uninstall wizard with the driver install?

Thanks for your message.

I have used the DDU software to delete the old drivers. I will now try to do the same and install the Adrenalin driver

I've had inexplicable problems with AMD drivers aw well- a lot in fact.

what i end up doing is installing the last driver that actually worked for me

you never really need the features of new ones

so just keep rolling back to older and older drivers till you get one that works
